Anyone want to talk about mental health? Ever been considered mentally unstable? What is mental health?
mental health
noun
1. a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being.
"all this pressure seems to be affecting his mental health"
Is it healthy to be considered mentally unhealthy by society? Or if by being considered, by a conventional medical Doctor, to be “suffering from a condition” eg. depression, anxiety, stress etc. could this state in fact be the first step in allowing one to break out of the paradigm of normal society?
Mental unhealth, or distress, disease, gives the human being a chance for respite and refection, to stop being a human doing, it’s like a pause button. An opt-out. A natural re-think, rest and recuperate. Is the health of the mind related to the environmental condition of the body, internal and external?
Is “normal” a healthy mental state? Is mental health the business of the state, or a business for the state (profits for Big Pharma)? If I were mental, would that expression of “mental” lead me (my body/self/mind) to reset and therefore become mentally healthy ~ to discover a better way, the Way perhaps?
Does anti-anxiety medication? SSRs (serotonin reuptake inhibitors) for example, help or hinder recovery? Or does the drug itself perpetuate the state of mental distress and prevent the bodys’ natural healing process. If mental health is required to “fit-in” and be a brick in the wall, member of the herd, I might perhaps prefer to be considered outside the box (cage) of the norm (herd) and embrace and bask and revel in being mental for a while.
Would I be actively continuing on the “wrong path” and driving myself mental by trying to fit in and conform, and would the acceptance of pills to “cure” the distress, disease, mental illness, be a panacea of fearful non-acceptance of the true cure, which is perhaps healing myself and embracing a better Way?
Is the acceptance of the label, mentally ill, stress and anxiety disorder, depression etc., and the associated complimentary drugs, the “state” of fighting against being mental (outside the norm/herd), the real sickness? And is the solution therefore, as with everything else, the
Truth.
